The Gold Coast is where it all happens in January, and not just for sun seekers. 2 of the biggest lunch events on the calendar happen early in the year on the Glitter Strip and they are both hosted by Vince Sorrenti.
The BMD Northcliff Sportsman’s Lunch on the first Friday of every year is in it’s 39th year and is a pivotal fundraising event that draws the cream of local corporates and a plethora of national sports celebrities from AFL, NRL, Rugby, Cricket, the Australian Olympic team and others. 400+ cram into the club and outdoor marquee for a seafood banquet, inspiring stories and lots of laughs. Vince has appeared 15 times at the event and hosted it for the last 8 years in succession!
A few days later it’s the Carbine Club Magic Millions lunch at the Star Broadbeach, a sold out event in the lead-up to the big race.
Vince will back up in 2026 to MC both events again.
Other notable Sorrenti appearances this month were the 80th birthday of celebrated Aussie businessman Kevin Bamford in Sorrento Victoria, and the Inspire Foundation lunch at Wollongong University.
